Altaka Albadila is inviting you to participate in the campaign to free the
grid in Lebanon. We want YOU to help us free the grid. Each one of us who is
consumer of electricity is invited to become a producer of electricity .We
can no longer work ONLY in generating electricity off the grid, in a stand
alone manner, so we do not remain under the mercy of using expensive
batteries to store our own generated electricity.
Each
one of us can generate in situ, in his home ,building or office at least ONE
KW of electricity by using solar panels ,or wind turbines ,and connect to
the grid by NET-METERING.
We
have 300 sunny days, and whatever electricity we produce during the day can
be used, and the excess may be connected to the grid of EDL (Electricite Du
Liban), while During the night, you can get back from EDL whatever you
produced during the day. A net metering procedure will allow EDL to bill
you, and subtract whatever you sold to EDL at the same rate they offer you.
Also, private sector entrepreneur can build solar plant or wind farms and
generate up to 2 MW, and interconnect to the grid .
If 100.000 Lebanese homes or offices generate each at least one KW and
connect by net metering to the grid, then we will be able to generate 100 MW
.Trust me, we can do it .The main obstacle is that we do not have until now
legislations to connect to the grid .Altaka albadila has started the process
of initiating legislations in this regard. We already contacted MP Mr.
Mohammad Kabbani (head of the hydro-electric comity in the Lebanese
parliament), and Mr. Fadi Koumair, and Mr. Kamal Al Hayeck, to start
initiating those needed legislations. We want YOUR HELP to organize a
pressure group to FREEING THE GRID.

deputy and M.P. Ask him to participate in issuing legislations to FREE THE
GRID, and to legalize NET METERING and INTERCONNECTION.
Time is running out ,as the barrel of oil will exceed pretty soon the 100
USD .The power outage is very serious ,and we can no longer afford to pay
the local street generator .It is time to ACT NOW. We have to produce 25% of
our energy by using clean energy by 2025. Let us start NOW. Please join the
campaign to FREEING THE GRID.
It should not take long, It is a matter of urgency! and the most pressing
energy issue for LEBANON. It is a matter of LIGHT or DARKNESS.
