LEBANON embraces the sun. we invite you to
climb to your roof and install a
solar water heater ,and solar panels to generate electricity.
We invite you to support our efforts to pass laws by the Lebanese parliament to
permit connection to the grid, and to give subsidies and low interest credit to
finance solar water heaters, solar panels, wind turbines and other sources of
renewable energies, to formulate a plan so that we increase production of
electricity from renewable sources up to 3% of total generated electricity by
2011.
We request that the
custom Tax of 5% and VAT of 10% be removed on import of solar water heaters,
solar panels, wind turbines and other sources of renewable energies. The
Lebanese State should give subsidies and not impose taxes on renewable energies!
We invite you to participate
in the green revolution instead of the solar revolution. We want Baalbeck to become again the city of the sun. Our goal is to install Solar water
heaters and solar panels in 100.000 private homes by Year 2011.
we call this project
: the 100.000 Solar roof projects.
Who will solve the electricity crisis in Lebanon?
It is not EDL, nor the government, nor the private sector alone.
The problem is so huge that each one of us should take a part, and give a hand.
It is EACH ONE OF US, and ALL OF US.
HOW:
- by saving energy.
- and by community power (decentralization of electricity generation). Each
community, each municipality or Casaa, should generate its own electricity using
renewable energies. It is a democratic and decentralized solution. The
inhabitants of that community will own the wind farm or solar park.
The big fuel centralized station power are things of the past.
